2020: Flop or Beautiful Adventure?

When 2020 began we were looking forward to lots of trips, eating at new places, and various activities. As the first quarter came to an end, the country and the World began to shut its doors to enthusiastic travelers. We were initially disappointed, but were fully committed to our plan of making 2020 a great year, nevertheless. Please enjoy a snapshot of our life this past year.

January: Rang in the new year with distant relatives, toured Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, and enjoyed a decently pleasant weathered January.
February: Enjoyed a late snowfall, celebrated Valentine’s Day, and toured an over priced art gallery.
March: Did a lot of outdoor walking, celebrated the grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and did a lot more walking outside.
April: Chris was furloughed, Chris had a birthday, and we had to cancel our BIG vacation. Talk about an unfortunate month for the birthday boy.
May: Ice-cream visits, discovering waterfalls in Kansas, and lots of movie watching.
June: Benton Fly-in, float trip in Nebraska, and Emily’s birthday.
July: Our nation’s birthday, learning our dog was very sick, and Emily started her Yoga teacher certification.
August: Covid exposure, lots of puppy cuddles, and lots of coffee shop exploration.
September: Fort Larned, celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary, and a honey tasting experience.
October: Craft fair we never actually found, getting blown away at the pumpkin patch, and made glass ornaments.
November: Late nights by the fire, lunches on the patio, and Thanksgiving with family.
December: Coffee runs, frantically shopped for Christmas, and celebrated our 13th year together. (Typically we have everything done by October for Christmas.)

Even though some of these things seemed insignificant or bleak at times, we practiced daily gratitude in all of 2020. Though we did not get to go on all the trips we planned or eat out as much as we would like, every day had at least one thing to smile about. For that we our truly blessed and humbly grateful.

May your 2021 be full of blessings and may you strive to live each day better than the day before.

P.S. We promise to come back in full swing in the New Year. Lots of trips planned and praying Covid and all its craziness ends soon.
